Winter carping
In winter life on the bank can be very harsh, with temperatures plummeting and freezing conditions. I have woken up on a number of occasions to find ice on the outer side of the door, the layer sliding off onto the ground upon slapping a hand on the inside panel. I don't use a sleeping bag and am always ready to answer a running carp in an instant, you wont catch me struggling to get out of a cocoon! As you can imagine, it is a little chilly, but, I will share with you here a little knowledge.
Now, you may have a large shelter, I have one that is very large, with four bar ribs, not the usual 3. It is great for most of the year but in freezing weather it is very cold even with the winter skin on and the door down. Now, when the weather becomes extreme, I switch to a small, single twin skin dome shelter. Why? Quite simple, a smaller shelter is easier to heat and maintaining the heat is easier due to less air space, and also a lot warmer.
