BACKSTAGE.
By David John Lovell.
Perception of many products and business models are very often inaccurate and here I would like to discuss my own approach to the way I work. The world is a stage and we all produce entertainment of sorts, in our ways, our loves, our families and our work. My approach to developing items for my fishing has been to first learn the craft, inside and out, top to bottom, all weathers. Something that seems clever may simply be bettered by something simple, and here I tend to really use brain power, knowledge, and take time to actually see the advantage and consider the requirements of a given idea, and possible downsides, before obtaining or purchasing any items. Cost need not be expensive or expansive, and items currently available may be changed to open a greater door within the angling industry, which has so many areas, all very interesting to the clients and customers. Today, my expansive experience allows me to instantly recognise any flaw that may be missed very quickly, and this helps to prevent the old mark1 to mark2 type of costly approach. For me, my whole set up is treated like a gig, I take a truck load of items, get to the gig, set up for the performance, and get the lines singing. On the Carp side of things my set up is a racing car, with many options open for quick changes at any time, and if a rod needs to be pitted for a quick change then I do have this ability. I can only say here that with a good team, I do have much to offer, and I feel it would be a shame for anglers today and tomorrows angler, the youngsters with some pocket money from mum and dad, not to be able to walk from a tackle shop with the best tackle designs that money could buy.
